    Open position for a PhD student

    The Department fo In vitro Toxicology and Dermato-Cosmetology of teh Vrije Universiteit Brussel  (VUB) is looking for a motivated PhD student (m/f) to support their experimental toxicology/hepatology research.

    Job description:
    * You will be involved in an innovative research project focused on the role of connexin and pannexin (hemi)channel signaling in liver cancer.
    * You will perform cell cultivation experiments and molecular biology analyses.
    * You will closely interact with VUB's international collaborator for this project at the University of Sao Paulo-Brazil.
    * You scientific work should result in several manuscripts published in international peer-reviewed journals and a PhD thesis in pharmaceutical sciences.
    * You will assist to a minimal extent in the organization of practical courses for students in master in pharmaceutical sciences.

  • Qualifications:


    Profile
    * You have a master degree in pharmaceutical sciences, (bio) medical sciences or equivalent.
    * You are a dynamic and flexible person.
    * You are able to work independently, yet as a team member, and accurately.
    * You have excellent presentation and communication skills both written and oral.
    * You have a good knowledge of the English language both written and oral.

    * A yearly renewable contract as a full-time PhD student at the VUB.
