    Postdoctoral Fellow (In vitro) (Full-time)

Fields: in vitro neurotoxicology, metal mixtures exposures, metabolomics, transcriptomics, epigenetics

The NEMEX (Neurotoxicity due to Environmental complex Metal Mixtures Exposure) multi-investigator group is currently looking for a neuroscientist or (neuro)toxicologist who is interested in elucidating the mechanisms by which metal mixtures act in concert to elicit neurodegenerative Alzheimer's Disease-related effects.

The research is focused on the neurotoxicological effects and neurocognitive defects of metal mixtures during brain development along with gene-by-environment studies leveraging human brain organoids to discover the adverse outcome pathways (AOPs) which will help in cumulative risk assessment for Alzheimer's Disease.

  • Qualifications:

Candidates with strong backgrounds in neurotoxicology, neuroscience, and/or in vitro electrophysiology, using in vitro cell-based and/or organoid models, are encouraged to apply.

Applicants should be highly motivated, enthusiastic individuals, and have or are expected to obtain a PhD shortly in a related area. Candidates will be expected to work collaboratively with other members of the group, but must be able to design and execute experiments independently. Strong organizational and oral/written communication skills are desirable.
