Open letter to the EU: Cosmetics must remain free of animal experiments Featured

A ban on animal testing for cosmetics has been in force in the EU since 2013. Since then, neither the conduction of corresponding tests nor the trade with corresponding products is allowed. But this milestone of animal protection is now in danger.

Under the guise of the REACH regulation, several cosmetic ingredients are to be tested on animals - despite of the prohibition. To prevent this, a broad alliance of animal protection and animal rights organizations as well as over 450 animal experiment-free cosmetics companies have sent an open letter to several EU institutions today. In this letter, they demand that the groundbreaking ban on cosmetic animal testing has to be upheld.
