ECVAM: New review identifies 542 relevant non-animal models for immuno-oncology research Featured

The EU Joint Research Centre's Reference Laboratory for Alternatives to Animal Testing (EURL ECVAM) has conducted a study to identify the state of development in advanced non-animal models for immuno-oncology research.

After reviewing 130,000 publications on immuno-oncology and searching for innovative and promising non-animal models, the researchers found 542 articles that, according to their criteria, were of the highest importance. The models discussed there were used to study the biological mechanisms responsible for cancer initiation and development, and to develop efficient and safe immunotherapies.
