An international team of scientists has developed a malaria-in-a-dish platform from induced pluripotent stem cells which can be used in the development of drugs against malaria.

The New York Stem Cell Foundation (NYSCF) and the Stanley Center at the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard are partnering to create a foundational stem cell resource to study psychiatric disorders through the production of induced pluripotent stem (iPS) cell lines from individuals with schizophrenia and other psychiatric disorders.

The research funding for the replacement and supplementary methods to animal experiments of the State of Baden-Württemberg is entering a new phase. At the same time the animal welfare research award 2015 is announced. An application is possible in each case until April 30, 2015.
