As it is stated in the recent press release, goal of the 400,000 euro-research funding is to support pioneering approaches to develop alternatives to animal testing in research and education.
For the funding program scientists can apply who work at facilities in Baden-Württemberg. The guidelines can be downloaded using the link below.
The research award is euro 25,000. To applicate the work must realize one of the following objectives:
- Replacement of animal experiments ("Replacement");
- Reducing the number of animals for a specific investigation ("Reduction");
- Reducing suffering, pain or injury ("refinement")
- Improvement of the welfare of animals used in experiments ("enrichment").
Projects can also be awarded which are in the field of implementation of already developed alternative methods (validation, regulatory acceptance and practical application) as well as work for the ethical evaluation of animal experiments.
