South Korea prohibits cosmetics tested on animals Featured

After strong negotiations Cruelty Free international (CFI) a breakthrough has been achieved: South Korea will prohibit cosmetic products which were tested on animals.

The Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs has now announced that finished cosmetics product testing on animals will be banned, followed by consideration of a further ban on the testing of ingredients - the same stepwise route that the European Union took on arriving at a total ban. Following earlier progress in India, Korea has become the second country in Asia to set out on the route to completely ending animal testing for cosmetics.
